At age six, she escaped an attempted rape after her family was burned alive by a mob, including Jean Baptiste Sibomana (49). Years later, in a socio-therapy group with CBS Rwanda, Jean Baptiste, after serving 12 years in prison, apologized, and they reconciled.

Title: Reconciliation after the Genocide: Marianna & Marc Marianna Nyirantgorama (58) survived the genocide by hiding among corpses after her family was massacred in a church. She later fled to Bisesero, where tens of thousands of Tutsis were killed. In 2018, she joined a CBS Rwanda therapy group that included Marc Nyandekwe (60), a neighbor who killed her sister and looted her home. During therapy, she forgave him.

She fled to the forest with her three young children, surviving with help from compassionate Hutus. Ancile Nyiramimani (52), had betrayed four of Unabagira's in-laws, but they were saved by a man who led them to safety near the RPF. They met in a CBS Rwanda therapy group, and in therapy, Unabagira learned of Nyiramimani's extreme poverty and forgave her. They eventually embraced.
