Years later, in a socio-therapy group with CBS Rwanda, Jean Baptiste, after serving 12 years in prison, apologized, and they reconciled.

She later fled to Bisesero, where tens of thousands of Tutsis were killed. In 2018, she joined a CBS Rwanda therapy group that included Marc Nyandekwe (60), a neighbor who killed her sister and looted her home. During therapy, she forgave him.

They met in a CBS Rwanda therapy group, and in therapy, Unabagira learned of Nyiramimani's extreme poverty and forgave her. They eventually embraced.
